In this Free Download, I hope you get a glimpse of the care and detail I put into all of my lessons. Each lesson that I create for my students and upload to TeachersPayTeachers is the work of much personal reflection and revision. This free activity is a fun way for Biology students to cooperatively learn about the structures within the cell and how they function together. Though a brief activity, it provides a powerful and authentic learning experience. Other downloads for purchase through my store are similar in creativity and design but provide the teacher with extensive background and analysis for the investigations.
In this group activity, up to 7 classmates are to imagine they’ve all been stranded together on a deserted island. Quickly, they realize that in order to survive, they must work together to start up a make-shift town. In order for the town to be successful and for survival, students must work together to address these areas of concern:
Public Safety Water Storage
Public Health Import and Export of Goods
Food Production and Distribution Waste Management
Energy Production Highway Division
Each member of the group will serve on a “Town Council” and have specific tasks from the list above that they are responsible for.
