This is a 50-question, multiple choice, final exam that covers genetics, evolution, nature of science, ecology, taxonomy, and plants. There is a combination of multiple choice, matching,, and true/false questioning. The questions are very general and designed so that anyone paying attention in class would pass the exam. I told my students that if they could not pass this exam, they must have simply slept through the class and never paid attention to anything that I said at all. Out of 98 students, I only had 2 students fail the exam (less than 60% on the test). The average score for my students was in the lower 80s with the highest score being a 98% so I think that it is a very useful tool for assessing the students at the end of the year.
