These illustrated guided notes are filled with helpful illustrations and places for students to doodle as they learn about biology! These notes can be organized into packets for students so that they have a set for each week or unit. I found in my own classroom that having “packets” of notes was the most helpful thing I could do to really help my students learn.
These note pages were designed with an interactive class discussion in mind. I recommend that teachers have their own doodle diagram page projected on the white board, and they can fill it in with their students, using some sort of projector like an ELMO projector. Students benefit a lot from seeing what the teacher would write down from the discussion.
This bundle is a growing bundle. So far, there are 6 doodle diagram sets and I will be publishing on average 1 or 2 a week this year. By December 31, 2018, all in this set will be completed. The month that I plan on finishing each unit is listed below next to the unit name. There will be over 60 sets (sets contain 1 or 2 student pages) in total when it is finished.
Unit 1: Introduction to Life and the Scientific Method
1. Characteristics of Life (2 student pages - FREE sample – check it out here.)
2. Organization of Life (2 student pages)
3. Classification of Life (2 student pages)
4. International System of Units and Metric Conversions (2 student pages)
5. Measurement Tools and Lab Equipment (2 student pages)
6. Scientific Method and Experiment Design (2 student pages)
Unit 2: Biochemistry (Finished by March 30, 2018)
Unit 3: Cells and Organelles (Finished by April 30, 2018)
Unit 4: Cell Transport (Finished by May 30, 2018)
Unit 5: Cell Energetics (Finished by July 30, 2018)
Unit 6: Cell Division (Finished by August 30, 2018)
Unit 7: Cell’s Genetic Information Flow (Replication, Transcription, Translation, etc) (Finished by September 30, 2018)
Unit 8: Genetics (Finished by October 30)
Unit 9: Evolution (Finished by November 30)
Unit 10: Ecology (All will be complete by December 31)
For those of you interested in human body systems and other topics in biology, I may create a different set of those in the future. Stay tuned!
