This is a great culminating activity for a high school biology class. It reviews many of the main topics covered in biology. Students complete five different biology problems. With each problem they receive a clue that leads them to the location of their next clue. After they have completed all five clues they receive the key to escape biology class! The teacher can determine what the students earn with the key: 100% on the assignment, bonus points, candy, etc.
Topics/skills included in the game are:
-Completing a dihybrid cross (with incomplete dominance)
-Constructing a cladogram
-Identifying species interactions
-Transcription and translation of a DNA strand
-Cell types and organelles
This activity requires a little teacher preparation (20-40 minutes). Teachers will need to customize the locations within the document for their school and sort and distribute the clues to these locations. All of the documents are editable word docs.
There are four different sets of clues so your students will not all be working on the same clue at the same time.
This is a great end of year activity, exam review, or standardized test review. Keep your students engaged to the last minute of the year with this fun activity!
A Physical Science: Physics and Physical Science: Chemistry version are in the works! Follow me to be the first to know when those are complete!
Ohio Science Teachers: This would be a great AIR review and fun way to prep for the test!
