Biology Final Semester Project - Photo Journal - Editable

Description
*If you purchase the pdf version of this item and would prefer the editable version, please send me an email and I will send you a link*
This project asks students to create a photo journal of their learning from the semester. To do this, students will need to take pictures of the world around them representative of the concepts covered during the semester. Each picture needs to be described in a caption relating the picture to the concept and describing the biology concept clearly.
This resources includes student directions, a rubric, and grading sheets for you to use as you score each photo journal. The categories of the rubric are specific to the content taught in my class during the semester, however, you could easily recreate this rubric using the content covered in your class. Each row represents one unit of learning. The scoring portion of the rubric repeats for each row, making the rubric easy to recreate. The final page of the document is a scoring sheet for you to use as you work through each photo journal, though you could alternatively collect the rubrics from the students and use those to mark scores.
*I have students present their photo journals on the last day of class. We sit in a circle and pass them around to one another. After each pass, I ask the students to choose one picture or caption that caught their attention and share it with the class. We rotate the books through about four students, followed by sharing, and then hand them in for scoring.
