This activity involves artwork for a hgh school biology class hat has received lesson on cytology. The students are assigned specific tasks in order to create a visual depiction of a hypertonic, isotonic, and hypotonic solution. They are to illustrate the cell's response to being placed inside such solutions. I originally came up with this simply activity as a way of breaking up the standard lessons and trying something new. Describing the direction of water flow is also important in these pictures. It involves the use of poster paper, color pencils, markers, crayons, etc. and research tools such as books and Internet access.
