Give your students an effective warm-up that doesn't seem like work at all.
I created these activity pages as review tools for Biology tutoring sessions but they can also be used as a warm-ups, differentiation tools, collaborative / team building activities, or as a parts of your substitute teacher plans.
I have written paragraph-length summaries and I created word searches using key terms from the texts of the summaries. The terms are written in bold letters as the paragraphs serve as the word bank for the puzzle. Key terms include:
3. Compound and Organic Compounds
5. Bonds, Covalent Bonds, and Ionic Bonds
7. Oxygen, Iron, Calcium, Sodium, Hydrogen, and Carbon
8. Acids, Bases, etc.
The second activity sheet has an added section that can be assigned for homework and provides a great opportunity for collaborative learning and team building once completed.
Even though I created this especially for Biology, I think that it will be a good addition to you learning plans at the beginning of school, at the end of school, and certainly during unit reviews.
