In this research project, students learn about the different terrestrial biomes on Earth and the animals that live in them. Students choose and research plants and animals that live in different biomes to explain how they are adapted to survive there. This is a great way to connect climate with ecology. The final product is a poster (11x17 size) that displays the organisms and their biomes. The project includes the following:
- A map to color code to show the different climate zones of the world
- Notes sheet for the 8 different biomes (one organism for each biome)
- Grading Rubric
- Reading passage and questions to introduce biomes, adaptations, and ecology.
- Teacher and student directions.
This activity is a powerpoint and can be edited to fit your specific needs.
