Biomolecule Notes & Critical Writing
By using one of America’s favorite foods, analogous thinking will help improve comprehension of a tough topic- biomolecules. This fun resource can be used as introductory notes, homework, or small group assessment.
Students will relate each of the biomolecules to one component of a hamburger as they record information about function, structure, monomers, polymers, elements and more! This handout will become an at-a-glance guide for the basics of biomolecules.
It is best utilized either as simple notes at the beginning of the unit or as homework/formative assessment later on. The sectioned nature of the handout lends itself well to cooperative learning groups while still providing students with an area for independent writing practice.
