Teacher must have a PowerPoint example of monomers of Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, and Nucleic Acids. As You explain, have students make a notes page with the drawings of your powerpoint examples.
Class 1. Teacher explains and shows students the structure of the Nucleic Acid (will have a "P" phosphate group) and carbohydrate (pentagon or hexagon shape "spaceship" or "house"). Students identify those structures on the handout that are only Nucleic Acids and Carbohydrates. Some structures on handout will be left blank for the next class period.
Class 2. Teacher explains and shows students the structure of the Lipid ( circle glycerol head and fatty acid tails) and the Protein (Amino Acid with center Carbon)
Go over with students and have students explain why the structure is a particular biomolecule based on the explanations You have shown them.
