This WebQuest uses various animations and interactive activities to walk students through the process of constructing genomic libraries (in general AND using BACs), gel electrophoresis, PCR reactions, and DNA Microarray Studies.
As noted at the top of the first page of the document, this is best used as a supplement after introducing the various types of technology through lecture, reading, or some other front-loading method.
This is used in my AP Biology course. I provide work time in class, but most is done as homework. I'm guessing that as a whole, it would take the average student about an 60-90 minutes to complete from start to finish (as some of the virtual labs are slow because they require proceeding through many sequential steps).
