This lesson was a challenging and engaging lesson for my Middle School students, however, I think it would be appropriate for high school sculpture classes as well. This lesson plan supports both the teacher and students.
It starts with a material list (seen in the thumbnails). Make sure before purchasing that you either have these materials or have alternatives to them. Next, there are instructions on how to pre-plan this project. Within this lesson, instructions on how to use tools such as wire pliers and a glue gun are highlighted. Creating an armature and applying paper clay is a part of this lesson as well. Most steps are supported by both visual pictures and video. Throughout the lesson, you will find both teacher and student examples. It wraps up with options for feedback from both teachers and peers as well as an example of a digital portfolio that you could model your student's assessment after.
