Activities in this lesson include a simple beat tapping chart, a rhythm tapping chart, a rhythm dictation activity, an introduction, definition, explanation, and purpose of 1st and 2nd endings, and much more. This adorable SMART NOTEBOOK lesson helps prepare elementary music students for new Solfege tone "High Do" while reinforcing their knowledge of rhythm pattern "Ta-a." Activities in this lesson include a bluebird icon beat tapping chart, a bluebird rhythm icon tapping chart, a bluebird rhythmic notation/dictation tapping chart, a melodic reading exercise in which students are visually introduced to the new "mystery" tone using bluebird icons on a 3 line/2 space staff (students are asked to take note of where the new "mystery" tone is placed on the staff in relation to the other known pitches), a melodic reading exercise of the entire song on a traditional 5 line/4 space staff with bluebird icons as note-heads in which the "mystery" note is kept hidden behind and interactive shape feature, and SO MUCH MORE!! This Smart Notebook lesson is a great way for your elementary music students (grades 2-3) to practice/review their knowledge of "do" while preparing for the new tone "re." In this interactive SMART NOTEBOOK lesson, activities include a heartbeat bird icon tapping chart, a rhythm bird icon tapping chart, a rhythm notation/dictation activity, reading the melodic notation from the staff where the mystery tone "re" is kept hidden (with bird icons as note heads), and reading the melodic notation with real rhythm icons as note heads where "re" is finally revealed. A fun practice activity at the end of the lesson is included for students to test their knowledge of where "re" sits on the staff in many places based upon the movable do concept.
4. Here Comes A Bluebird - Intro. to "Re" & "Ta-a" (Kodaly Based) - SM NTBK Edition -
In this interactive SMART NOTEBOOK Smart Board lesson, elementary music students in grades 1-3 will be introduced to new Solfege tone "re" as well as new rhythm pattern "ta-a." Activities in this lesson include a colorful beat tapping chart, two different rhythm icon tapping charts using bluebirds as the notation icons (1 chart shows the preparation for "ta-a" using tied "ta's" [or tied bluebirds] and the other chart shows black-lined bluebirds as the "ta-a"), presenting/identify/labeling new tone "re" on the staff, practicing melodic dictation on the staff using infinitely cloned note heads, and so much more.
5. Ladybird: Song for Practicing "Mi-Sol-La" (Kodaly Based) SM NTBK Edition -
This SMART NOTEBOOK lesson is a great way for elementary music students to practice and reinforce their knowledge of tone set "mi-sol-la." Activities in this lesson include a heartbeat tapping chart with cute bird picture icons, a rhythm icon tapping chart with birds as the rhythm icons, a rhythm dictation chart where students have to dictate the rhythm to the song on top of the heartbeat picture icons using real rhythm notation icons, a reading "mi-sol-la' in various places on a 3 line/2 space staff exercise, and finally reading/singing the song in it's entirety on a full staff in two different notation forms (1 with cute bird picture icons as note heads and 1 with real rhythm notation icons as note heads). At the end of the lesson, there is a sorting activity in which the students have to arrange the 4 melodic Solfege phrases of the song into the correct melodic sequence. This lesson is appropriate for students in grades 1-3.
