These lessons are a free sample of a year long music listening subscription
Three short music listening and journaling activities. These listening selections are meant as mini-lessons, lasting approximately 10 minutes each. They can also be combined for a longer listening lesson, and would be great for a sub!
*EDITABLE PowerPoint presentation including a title page, short composer or song biography, and three questions for each piece.
*PDF copy of PowerPoint presentation
*Teacher's guide with answers and extensions.
*Blank student worksheets for completing listening activity.
*SOUND FILES ARE NOT INCLUDED, however there is a link to a YouTube video for each piece.
*Blackbird, The Beatles,
*The Lark Ascending, Ralph Vaughan Williams
*Rockin' Robin, Performed by The Jackson 5
The worksheets and slides are designed to have two short answer
questions and one complete sentence answer (always #3.) I encourage students to spend the most time on question number three as a way of internalizing each piece. It is my hope that they will create a personal connection with the music and a lasting memory.
