This is two renditions of the same assignment, both in Word format. One is a printable paper copy, the other is an electronic copy to be used on the computer by the student with a drop box. The electronic copy has additional questions compared to the paper copy. Feel free to combine them to make one big assignment!
The questions are straightforward and some are opinion or experience-based such as "What are some excuses that teens use to avoid using birth control?" It is very subjective, and answers can be researched on the internet along with being opinion/experience-based. Answers will also vary because of this. It's a great assignment to use, once completed by all students, as a learning/data tool to compare all the various answers.
The electronic version of this assignment is a Word document that is used on the computer with a drop box such as Blackboard, PowerSchool or School Space. It can be quickly and easily converted into a printable paper copy by simply removing the asterisks and adding lines for the students to write their answers instead of typing them. I use this format often so that we can save paper by using electronic copies of assignments.
The student answers the questions by placing the cursor between the red asterisks and begins typing the answer - that way they can easily see that they've answered the question and I can easily grade the assignment by reading what they've typed in red. A nice feature of assignments that are used on the computer along with a website is that the assignment can be 'pinned' to one side of the computer screen and the website pinned to the other so the student can see both the assignment and the website they're working from at the same time. I love technology!
