This is a fun activity to do with students at the beginning of the school year. Not only does it look cute, but it gives you a quick reference for birthdays. It is easy and colorful. Students love to help decorate the classroom. When complete, this becomes part of an exercise that we do to learn about graphing in math.
(Don't forget to make them for your paras because they are an important part of the classroom too.)
Simply copy onto construction paper or have students color them. The use of paint chips makes it interesting and colorful. It looks just like a cupcake liner and students can choose their favorite color. It stays up all year long in my classroom and at the end of the year they get to take them home.
