“Birthplace of Thanksgiving: Plimoth Plantation” is a PowerPoint presentation containing over 200 original photographs taken of the Pilgrim Village, Wampanoag Village, the Craft Shop and the Mayflower II. Students will gain insight into the daily lives of the Pilgrims and Indians of the 1600’s by visiting their homes and work sites. See how a canoe is made by burning the inside of a log and scraping out the charred remains. View the cramped quarters of the Mayflower and imagine the Pilgrim’s 66 day voyage. Climb up to the second floor of the Pilgrim Meetinghouse to get a cannons-eye view of the entire village and the bay.
This lesson contains all 205 photos in JPEG format for your classroom to use for bulletin boards, reports and other projects. The pictures are royalty free and may be used commercially. A 7 page script is included which allows the teacher to narrate as the slides are projected onto the screen. Links to additional videos and activities are also provided. Enjoy!
