‘Bizi the Musk Duck of Barren Box Swamp’ is a children's picture book based on the true environmental success story of Barren Box Swamp in Tabbita, NSW Australia.
“Our swamp is dying my little friend.
The animals are leaving - this could be the end.”
'Bizi' was shortlisted for The Wilderness Society Environment Award for Children’s Literature 2013. The Environment Award for Children’s Literature is presented annually to fiction and nonfiction books that ‘foster a love of wild places and wildlife in young Australians’ and ‘encourage a sense of responsibility for our natural world’.
“This book is a wonderful educational resource, a story of love then hope.”
“This colourful and engaging book brings to life the inhabitants of the wetlands of New South Wales. It also represents conservationists and farmers working together for common goals and good, and draws together the animals, the issues, and good-news solutions. Well done Ann-Maree and Jan.”
