This is a role play sequence which should take up at least one period (more likely a double period), but which can easily be condensed or extended as required.
This was originally aimed for Year 8 (as under the Australian National Curriculum students in Year 8 study Medieval Europe and The Black Death), but can be adapted to different grades easily.
It is fully functional without any modification. Simply print, photocopy a set of the Role Play Notes sheet for the audience, and go!
Instructions are included.
It's a fantastic way to get students actively involved in their learning; up and out of their seats and performing for their peers (as we know some of them love to do!) but in a constructive way!
It incorporates drama into history, and facilitates interpersonal learning, problem-solving skills and higher order thinking.
