This Black Friday activity is two subjects packed into one great lesson! This real-world activity will give your students a realistic experience as to what many consumers experience on Black Friday.
First students read an informational story about Black Friday. There are questions that go along with the story and are common core aligned. Next, the students participate in a Black Friday shopping simulation. They are provided with an electronic store's products and prices. They are also given coupons that can be applied to their purchases. They must purchase one of each item, find the discount and price after discount for each item. At the end, they must find the amount they saved and their final price after the discounts.
