This set of Black History Month passages includes 5 informational texts with questions that go with each passage. Each text has 5 questions, and all of the questions are Common Core aligned from grades 2-4. Each passage also contains a writing graphic organizer, as well as a writing page for each. The passages are written on a 3rd grade level, so they can be used for high 2nd graders, all 3rd graders, or 4th graders who struggle in the area of informational reading.
These can be printed, laminated, and put in a reading center. They can also be used in a teacher-led small group, with partners, or even for morning work or homework. Students will work on their informational text skills, while learning about some important people from history.
Passages include: Rosa Parks, Jackie Robinson, Sojourner Truth, Jesse Owens, and Booker T. Washington.
