Black History Month
: Famous Black Americans Biography Partner SKITS.... perfect any time!
These partner skits can be used in February for Black History Month or they can be used any time throughout the year. If you are doing biography projects, this could be a perfect addition to your reading time. Also, you can pull out one particular skit and use it if you are required to study that one particular person. For example, in SS for 4th grade we are required to study Sojourner Truth, so I might save that one for reading time when we study her in Social Studies.
NOTE: You can also purchase this in a BUNDLED Pack by clicking HERE
These are partner skits, which means there are just 2 characters. The characters are a child and the famous black American. The skits were written by me and are written in a way that it is like a conversation between the child and the person, as if they came back for a day and the child could converse with them about their life experiences. Only one of the famous black Americans is still alive today.
These can be used during your social studies time or your reading time. They can be used as a center activity or as a whole group partner activity. There are so many uses. Feel free to use them in your classroom however you see fit.
Your students will build fluency while they learn facts about famous black Americans. They can even take turns being the 2 different characters, so they each have a chance to be the famous person. :-)
There is a skit for each of the following people:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
George Washington Carver
Don't forget to let your kids recite these for the entire class.... so much fun!!
