My students and I are so excited about celebrating Black History Month and the contributions of so many to our nation’s history! Sudoku puzzles like these are perfect for use as Social Studies enrichment, at a math center, for morning work, with your early finishers, or as a bell-ringer.
This pack includes a Sudoku puzzle for those students who are new to Sudoku, as well as one for students who are ready for more of a challenge! Puzzles like these are terrific for improving critical thinking and deductive reasoning!
For the 4x4 picture puzzle, each student will simply need a puzzle handout, scissors, and a glue stick to get started. However, these puzzles also work beautifully when printed, laminated, and placed in a math or problem-solving center. Add magnets or Velcro for extra ease.
For the 9x9 number puzzle, each student will need a puzzle handout, a pencil with a good eraser, and patience! However, these puzzles also work beautifully when printed, laminated, and placed in a math or problem-solving center. Add a dry erase marker or vis-a-vis for use over and over.
