Black History Month Biographies Close Reading Informational Text : Contemporary Black History Eight Men and Women Who Inspire. Included is a full page of informational text about each figure, with follow-up comprehension and writing activities. Audio version included. Featured are:

Following each informational article is a page of comprehension questions requiring close reading of the text and reflective thought by the student. Answer keys are included for all. Each article stands alone. You have the option to use as many or as few of the articles as suit your purpose and time frame. Further suggestions for additional follow-up activities complete the unit.

Included in this learning-filled package is a link to an audio version of the text. Students can access the audio text on an iPad, Mac or Windows device and follow along as the text is highlighted while they listen.
