Looking for a new and different Civil Rights lesson for Martin Luther King Day?
This file includes two HANDS-ON activities for the price of one! It is great as for a short introduction to the Civil Rights Movement, or to accompany your Martin Luther King, Jr. Day activities.
These events will have your students moving around the room, and engaged in the learning process.
1. Interactive Timeline of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s personal life AND Timeline of major events in the Civil Rights movement. A total of 24 events are included. This timeline is designed to be interactive - students will arrange the events in order, and then answer questions.
2. Gallery Walk of historic Civil Rights photos. The Gallery Walk includes 10 historic photos and questions to accompany them. All photos are public domain.
Both sets of questions include answer keys - perfect for the busy teacher! Questions are in Word format, so that you can adapt as needed for your students.
