Black History Month is a time to celebrate the struggles, sacrifices, triumphs and continuing accomplishments of African Americans. Black History is profound and rich and should go beyond the life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
In an effort to support educators who desire to take their Black History Month Studies beyond MLK, teacher authors from all across the country have put together this digital sampler. The Black History Month sampler is full of resource links to units of study designed to expose students to a wealth of other influential African Americans.
It is our hope these resources will pique students' interests and lead them on a path of self-reflection where they can pursue independent research and a broader spectrum of such an important subject.
