As defined by History.com, Black History Month is: "an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history." As such, I wanted to give my students a lesson that truly emphasized achievements, inventions, and contributions by several African Americans, who could then inspire my students! My students were amazed by the things we use every day that they heard about in this lesson!
