This activity is SUPER fun during black history month. I have a new composer of the month each month in my room so for Black History Month I pick a composer that is African American and then I use listening activities to talk to my kids about that composer and other African American Singers/Songwriters/Instrumentalists. For my own use of this activity I printed out the sheets, laminated them, cut out the squares and attached a small piece of magnet from a magnet strip to the back to be able to stick it to my whiteboard. I gave each student a card and press play on the song and they have to use their aural skills to know when it is their turn to go up to the board and place their picture.
**When I do this activity my students have already learned a bit about Louis Armstrong, they have heard the song and I have read them the picture book, "What A Wonderful World".
