Product Description
In this multi-day project, students research, examine the artworks of and create their own examples of prominent black/minority artists.

These instructions independently guide students in selecting an artist and provide direct links to resources for 3 possible choices: Jacob Lawrence, Romare Howard Bearden, and Lois Mailou Jones. It guides students in writing an Artist's biography, and then instructs them to create their own artwork modeled on the artist's style.

The three examples focus on painting, collage, and watercolors, respectively.

This would be a great lesson for 4 - 5 days of independent work focused on Black History & Art. It develops students' research skills and artistic abilities.
