*Notes about each song, as well as suggested song activities

*Eight book mini-lessons for these books: "Dizzy," "What a Wonderful World," "Follow the Drinking Gourd," "I See the Rhythm," "Ben's Trumpet," "To Be a Drum," "Duke Ellington: Piano Prince and his Orchestra," and "Charlie Parker Played Be Bop." All mini-lessons include objectives, materials, National Music standards (NCCAS) met, process; most also include extensions. Note: Many of the book mini-lessons include recommendations for various recordings. I could not include these recordings due to copyright issues.

*PowerPoints with music/sounds embedded for these books: "Dizzy," "Ben's Trumpet," and "To Be a Drum" (all music is royalty free)

*Instrument identification worksheet for "Ben's Trumpet"

*Colorful printables of famous African-Americans to use during lessons and/or for a bulletin board, including musicians, artists, inventors, and more
