This product contains five objective summary assignments about important African-Americans in history (Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Althea Gibson, Thurgood Marshall, and Martin Luther King, Jr.). This is a great activity for Black History Month Each assignment is on its own page, and includes the link to the article and a template for writing an objective summary with sentence starters. The template is especially helpful for English learners or RSP students. It is ready for Google Classroom, or you can easily print the assignment sheet and articles using the links provided.
Each summary comes with a complete answer key, with an example paragraph for you to use. This would work well as a jigsaw activity, or spaced out during Black History Month. It would also work well as a sub plan or homework assignment.
