I have created a series of posters for Black History Month. Each group of eight posters have a certain focus: dancers, politicians, poets/authors, etc. In my classroom, I usually focus on one group per week during Black History Month. I found this to help with organization and project ideas. I tried this last year and had a positive response from my students. They especially enjoyed learning about certain black dancers and authors that had never been introduced to them in past years.
Featured dancers and choreographers: Alvin Ailey, Debbie Allen, Cholly Atkins, Josephine Baker, The Nicholas Brothers, Katherine Dunham, Paula Kelly, and Bill "Bojangles" Robinson.
Note: These posters are in color and do require quite a bit of ink. However, they can be laminated and used for years to come. Be sure to print in actual size. You might also consider printing in grayscale should you see fit.
If you like this resource, please rate and comment. As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me. Thanks!:)
