This resource was designed to help young learners understand information pertaining to Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges and Martin Luther King. Included in this packet are several mix and match activities with modifications for easy differentiation.
The format for each historical figure is the same, with different content.
For each historical figure the following are included:
Timeline Posters – Full size color posters for classroom display
- Color, cut and paste
with 2 options
Option 1 - Students color the pictures, then cut and
paste the text in the boxes
Option 2 – Students color the pictures then write
their own text on the lines provided.
– After completing the timeline and/or the Memory Book and/or the teacher’s choice of materials, students compose a newspaper article. The article can be about one milestone in the historical figures life, or about his/her
entire life. 3 different versions with different size lines and spaces are provided.
– 5 designs and 2 size lines and spaces for a total of 10 writing paper sheets.
