This Black History STEM/STEAM resource provides inspiration for your students during Black History Month and beyond. It is also part of my STEAM Through the Year Bundle
Perfect for displaying on a bulletin board or portable display board, these posters and mini-posters will inspire your students to think outside the box as they use prompts from famous African-American inventors to develop new creations. The mini-posters will also be a great addition to your sub binder for the whole class to use as writing/drawing prompts with no extra materials needed.
Six famous historical innovators are included in this resource. There is one general information mini-poster with a few facts about each inventor and his/her contribution, followed by three more mini-posters with project suggestions for your students.
The mini journal is a convenient place for students to keep track of their ideas and plans and to include in their interactive notebooks for Social Studies or Science when they are done. It’s simple on purpose. One page keeps the design process right in the hands of students so they can refer to it as they work. The rest of the journal is set up for simple notes and sketches as they work. Just print front to back and fold!
I have also included a page of borders to print, cut, and decorate your STEAM station along with the posters. Card backs are also in here!
Be sure to download my free Maker Space Guide to Getting Started for suggestions on items to fill your STEAM boxes with as you set up this station.
