This resource includes 40 task cards (two different fonts to choose from) that can be used in a variety ways including:
Scavenger Hunt Race- Copy all 10 sheets (4 cards per sheet) and distribute to students (students may work alone, with a partner, or in small groups of three). The first person or team to earn 50 points (or however many points you decide) “wins.”
Use as an anticipatory activity in a lesson/unit. Distribute one or two cards to each student and allow 5 minutes to complete the tasks/answer the questions. Large group discussion if time permits.
Make several copies of the cards and distribute one sheet (four cards) to each student. Allow class time to complete all or some of the tasks/answer the questions. (I laminate the cards and either have my students answer the questions on post-its or write the answers on the back of the laminated cards with dry-erase markers. If time is limited, I ask my students to answer two or three questions of their choice from their card.
Assign an individual sheet (four cards) as homework.
Assign all 40 task cards/questions as homework to be completed by the end of a unit.
