This freebie is designed for use with, not in place of, "The Greatest Potatoes" by Penelope Stowell. This book provides a fictional account of the historic creation of potato chips by George Crum, a Native and African American man. Since the snack, potato chips, is a favorite snack food among many, I thought it would be great to share this fun fact with my younger students.
This comprehension booklet targets "who, what, where, when, and why" questions using an array of multiple choice pictures. Cut out the cover page and following pages containing questions. Discard excess paper, and staple in order. My students are fascinated with highlighters, so they highlighted their responses.
Please note the book, "The Greatest Potatoes" is listed as recommended for K-2; however, I did think some of the vocabulary was a little complex, so a picture walk and vocabulary preview is recommended.
I hope that you find this product useful. Please consider taking a moment to leave feedback as it helpful to me as well as potential buyers. Thank you for your time.
