Black History Who, What, Where and When is a reading strategies product that will help students make connections while reading. Students will also readily identify nouns (subjects), verbs and verb phrases (predicates).
Have your students read each statement about a famous African-American. Underneath the statement have each student answer the who, what, where and when of each statement.
What= the action (verb) that the subject did
Where= the place where the action happened
When= the time and or date the action took place
