Black Ships Before Troy tells the story of the 'The Iliad" in a bite-size format. It's filled with action and explores the many themes including fate versus freewill. I created this "passport" or stamp card to incentivize nightly reading assignments, homework completed in excellence, Do Nows completed with urgency, and so forth. You may use this tool and resource however you feel would best support your class.
How To Use: Print off a copy for each student and fold in half. Consider the behaviors you would like repeated, for example, reading and/or homework completion. Then, assign stamp rewards. Every day, you would give a stamp or multiple stamps for whichever "behavior" you wanted. At the end of the week, month, or even unit, you can give out small prizes or even throw a class party. This idea is to incentivize good study habits and practices--either individually or collaboratively.
Lastly, this is a tool that does not need to be grade or subject specific!
