I've created 51 full page signs for different stations in your classroom. For each station I have included a list of what the children are learning at that station, couched in "I am" statements. Often times, parents (and administrators!) don't always understand the benefits of "play". These signs point out the social, cognitive and motor developments that go on in each station. The list includes:
Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading, Writing, Journal, Phonics, Spelling, Word Work, ABC, Letter, Poetry, Big Book, Library, Sight Words, Write the Room, Guided Reading, Small Group, Super Sentences,
Computer, Smartboard. Promethean, iPad, Overhead
Dramatic Play, Play Dough, Sensory, Water Table, Light Table, Art, Painting, Puppet, Blocks, Puzzle, Listening, Music, Pet Station, Pocket Chart Station, Lego, Woodworking, Dollhouse, Felt Board, Game Station, Train Station, Pattern Blocks, Fine Motor, Handwriting, Stamping, Transportation, Magnetic Tiles and Snap Cube Station.
I also use these signs to monitor how many children are in each station. I decide beforehand how many students each station can hold. Then I attach that amount of stickers to the bottom of the laminated page. Students can then use their station-time clothespin to cover up a sticker - when all the stickers are covered that station is full!
