Blackout Poetry: Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls

This project aims to bring awareness to the injustice that is Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Using the CBC Case Explorer on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, print a variety of articles, then use this assignment to help students understand this dire situation, and how the governments in both Canada and the USA need to be committed to a national inquiry. Show these women as people. As mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends who were deserving of life, and who had that life taken from them, regardless of their life situations.
