Help your students become more colorful writers by using the gradient color coding of paint chips with this grouping of clip art. Children tend to use generic language when speaking and writing- use this set of visuals to support the use of richer, deeper language. Paint chips are great for developing an understanding of synonyms- on the lightest color write the least rich word (ex: small); as the color deepens write richer words with the same meaning (ex: small --> little --> tiny --> miniscule). Paint chips make a beautiful classroom decoration, personal thesaurus, bulletin board, literacy station, word wall enhancement….. The uses are endless!
