Description

Don't have time for a full novel study in your class but you still want students to dig into fiction? Do you have some reluctant readers who just need the right text to connect with? Are you and your student huge football fans? In this pack of close reading exercises for John Grisham's novel Bleachers, you will find four creative lessons that are sure to provide many layers and opportunities for textual analysis during fall AND engage your most reluctant readers.

Included:
There are four close reading excerpts included to help direct students to some of the key passages in each section of the novel. They require both a reading of the text and text to self and text to world analysis. One of the lessons also includes a paired, classic poem. Students will dig into the excerpts and focus on key ELA skills with these mini lessons, and they will love that they are reading a football-themed text. You will love that everything you need to complete these exercises is included - no prep for you. Just print and go.
