This is the second set of blending cards. These cards use a kinesthetic approach to blending words. Research has shown that this method works well with students who tend to guess words instead of blending them.
I created this product because I had several students who would look at the first letter of the word, and then they would guess the word instead of blending the sounds together. After doing some research, I found several research articles that talked about teaching these students to read using a kinesthetic approach. Thus, I created these cards. The student must touch the dot, and then they have to say the letter sound that goes with that letter. I found that after practicing with the cards for a few weeks, the students stopped guessing, and they
began to touch letters while they were reading! I hope you enjoy this product as much as I did!
