This resource is meant to be printed on hard-stock paper and cut into cards (may also be laminated). The cards are used to develop and practice beginning reading skills. Have the student point to each dot and ask the student to say the sound/phoneme for each letter separately. Then have the student move down to the dotted line and have the student stretch the phoneme. The last line, the straight bold line, is used to blend the phonemes. The goal is to get students to read simple CVC words step by step.
These cards can be used in small groups, individual, or in Literacy Centers.
There are 108 CVC word cards, 6 of them are non-sense words.
