Help students in grades 6-10 ELA learn the important skill of blending (or embedding) quotes within their writing with these Blending Quotes Stations. Includes six stations to help students learn how to introduce quotes with a colon, an explanatory phrase, by blending quotes into their own sentences, and by shortening quotes. There is also a station with a video guide to help visual learners, and a station for students to practice the art of analyzing and explaining the quotes they use in their writing.
A four page student guide helps walk students through the stations so they can work at their own pace. An entry task and culminating activity will help you to assess student learning.
Blending Quotes Stations also include five beautiful posters to hang in your classroom for student reference all year long.
RECENTLY ADDED: I included eight small task cards with tips for blending quotes in writing and citing sources. These task cards are perfect for students to keep as a handy reference tool. I attached a set of task cards to each group of desks in my classroom so students had easy reference when they work on writing.
