Kindergarten RTI tool for decoding. Students blend 3 sounds in Elkonin boxes to read the word. After they can draw a picture and re-write the word on Kindergarten friendly dotted lines.
Do your little ones know most sounds and have emerging phonemic awareness skills? Many times kids in this stage struggle to read decodable, CVC books in spite of having the basic skills necessary to do so. I have found that a great (RTI) intervention for these kiddos is to have a lot opportunities to read CVC words in isolation. This builds their self esteem and helps to internalize "sounding out" (or blending) the sounds in words to read more fluently and confidently.
Strong blending skills may also correlate to higher nonsense word fluency if your school uses DIBELS to test students quarterly.
With this purchase your emergent readers will have plenty of practice blending CVC, short vowel words in isolation. They'll be confident readers in no time. The bundle contains 19 pages that focus on one word family per page and at least 3 word families for each of the 5 short vowel sounds.
