Use the following 2-sided blends and digraphs mini chart with students in grades 1-3 or older intervention students in grades 4-5 to teach, review, and reinforce phonemic awareness. Each digraph/blend listed features a picture cue that helps students link their reading to writing and writing to their reading. This tool is helpful for students to have out during writing and begin to write unknown words by linking them to similar blends/digraphs on the chart. In reading, students who practice reading the chart aloud daily will begin to "get their mouth ready" when they come to tricky words. Students can read, sing, or chant the chart for daily reinforcement by saying, "block-bl, chair-ch" or bl-block, ch-chair." For best results: Print each 2-sided chart in color on white cardstock then laminate for each student (I laminated mine at a local office supply store using more durable lamination).
