Looking for a fun way for your students to practice their multiplication facts? Here it is, all winter long!.
Directions for Blizzard
Students in a group take turns choosing a card from their group’s bag. The player will read the math fact out loud and quickly come up with an answer. Other group members check for accuracy. If the student gets it right, he/she keeps the card. If he/she gets it wrong, it goes back in the bag. Students take turns pulling cards and adding to their snowflake collection. If a student draws a BLIZZARD card, all the cards they’ve collected go back in the bag, except the BLIZZARD card, which gets set aside. You can use as few or as many blizzard cards in a group as you like. Play continues until a set time limit or until all the cards are gone from the bag. Whoever has the most cards wins.
