This is a blockprinting lesson based on the artwork of Georgia O'Keefe. The objectives are: 1. Students will learn about using more complex two-dimensional art media and processes.
2. Students will learn about major works of art created by women, specifically Georgia OÃƒÂ¢Ã¯Â¿Â½Ã¯Â¿Â½Keefe, and describe the impact of those works on society at that time.
3. Students will create a two dimensional piece of artwork utilizing block printing and based on the work of Georgia OÃƒÂ¢Ã¯Â¿Â½Ã¯Â¿Â½Keefe.
This lesson does utilize a video on Georgia O'Keefe and on Woman artists, but you could substitute an alternate video or view artwork from Georgia O'Keefe. This lesson also includes student worksheets.
