This Blockly Coding S.O.P. will work as a great visual reminder of expectations in your computer lab or any classroom that is teaching coding! You will need a Cricut, printer, and cardstock to complete this project.
I wish Design Space had an option to download the canvas itself, but unfortunately that option does not yet exist, which means slightly more work on your part uploading the PNGs to your canvas and sizing them correctly. If you are having trouble please reach out and I will help you troubleshoot any issues you are having!
I have the sizing of all components set up so that you will be able to use 12x12 cardstock, I purchased a few of the cardstock pads from Michaels when they had a buy 1 get 2 free sale and they worked perfectly!
When I was done I used a glue-stick to glue all of the pieces onto construction paper and ran the whole project through the laminator to extend its life expectancy!
You will notice that all of the blocks are just cut, meaning you need to make the letters transparent. The words (floor, the teacher, actively) need to be print then cut. If you are looking to change the words at all, I used Amical Semibold which is the closest font I could find to what is used on the Scratch blocks, the "g" is the only letter I found a significant difference in.
When resizing your PNGs please keep the dimensions locked and only change the width. Of course you can make this whatever size works best for you and your kiddos! Here are the widths I used for each component:
I hope you enjoy this project and that your kids and co-workers get a kick out of it! Check back soon, I will be uploading more Cricut projects with blockly blocks for more classroom SOP's, if you have a specific request, please let me know!
